Danske Møbler Hawke’s Bay is proudly locally owned and operated, marking an exciting new chapter for a brand that has been trusted by New Zealanders for over 60 years. While the name carries a rich Danish heritage, our Hawke’s Bay store is deeply rooted in the local community—combining international perspective with a genuine passion for quality furniture and customer care.
At the heart of the business are owners Wigan and Denise Rasmussen. Originally from Denmark, Wigan brings more than 30 years of experience in the furniture industry, having worked across Denmark, the United States, and New Zealand in both senior management roles and store development. Together with Denise, a New Zealand native, they’ve built a business grounded in craftsmanship, service, and family values.
What began as a short stay in New Zealand turned into something much more permanent. After managing several Danske Møbler stores nationwide, Wigan was invited to take on the Hawke’s Bay location with a long-term vision. Today, under their leadership, the store has grown into one of the top-performing Danske Møbler locations in the country—built on strong relationships, consistency, and a commitment to doing things right.
